Telo Islands

  • Churches (Mishos)

The most consistent left-hand break in the Telo Islands, Churches offers a long, wrapping wave suitable for surfers of all abilities, from casual cruisers to advanced rippers. It boasts a mix of features, including long walls, speedy sections, hollow barrels, and ample shoulders for carving. This wave works across all tides, ranging from 1ft to 8ft.

  • The Boot (The Shoe)

This wave is named after the rocky island nearby. A bowly right-hand reef, it catches similar swells as Churches but thrives in the opposite wind direction. Best surfed when head-high or larger, The Boot ensures that, with consistent swells, either this right or the nearby left is likely offshore and breaking.

  • Pinnacles

A reliable wave in the region, Pinnacles forms a shifty peak that transitions into varied sections perfect for carving. While not world-class, it offers plenty of fun, accompanied by a stunning backdrop.

  • Coconuts (Le Ba)

A playful right-hand wave that starts on an outside reef ledge before peeling along an island fringed with coconut palms. Suitable for surfers of all skill levels, it rarely barrels but is ideal for high-performance, top-to-bottom surfing. It’s best at shoulder-high or larger.

  • Coronas (GT’s, Rangga’s)

Though not the most consistent or lengthy wave, Coronas is among the highest-quality breaks in the Telo Islands. This world-class wave features a near-perfect barrel from start to finish, offering a rideable tube for those who can manage the drop. While smaller conditions suit most surfers, only advanced riders should tackle it when it gets solid.

  • Kindies

A relatively consistent right-hander with a peak that breaks over a flat, safe reef. Often mellow, it feels like a beach break but over coral. Located across the channel from Mousetraps, it works under similar conditions.

  • Sipika

When a solid swell rolls in, Sipika delivers long rights with diverse sections, including walls for carving and barrel opportunities. It holds sizable swells and breaks in deep water, offering an excellent option for surfers looking to push their limits. However, it is exposed to wind, making conditions variable.

  • The Bubble

This wave is more fickle, requiring specific conditions to shine. When it does work, it’s an exhilarating, fast, and sucky wave with decent length, providing an unforgettable ride.

  • Mousetraps (School Yards)

    Mousetraps (School Yards)
A true swell magnet, Mousetraps offers a swinging peak with fat shoulders for carving and inside bowls for more technical manoeuvres. Near Kindies, it can frustrate at times but surprises with excellent, sometimes hollow waves, particularly as the swell builds.

  • Pirate Pass (ER)

A picturesque reef pass featuring a mellow left and a fun, peaky right. It’s the go-to option when other spots are nearly flat or too small to surf.

  • Dislocators

A powerful, hollow, and shallow left-hand wave that requires a solid swell to break. This heavy, technical wave is only suitable for experienced tube riders.

  • The Patch (Twin Peaks, Pyro’s)

One of the region’s more consistent breaks, The Patch primarily offers a left-hand reef break with occasional short rights. It mimics a shifty, peaky beach break. It’s accessible to all skill levels when small but becomes more hollow and demanding with bigger swells and less water.

  • Monkeys

One of the Telo Islands’ most dependable waves, Monkeys delivers a mix of sections year-round. Best surfed early or late in the day, it’s known for its stunning sunrise and sunset views with a backdrop of palm trees, creating a memorable surf experience.

  • Coffins

A fast, barrelling right-hand wave breaking over a shallow reef. True to its name, Coffins offers thrilling rides with limited exit options, making it a wave for the brave.

  • New School

A short, right-hand wave offering occasional barrels and open-faced sections. Though fickle and condition-dependent, scoring this wave feels particularly rewarding.

  • Outer Monkeys

A powerful right-hand break that thrives on larger swells. Outer Monkeys offers high-performance surfing with round barrels on the right tide or wide-open faces for big turns.

  • Bozos

Located near Bojos, this left-hander offers multiple sections with heavy and fast takeoffs transitioning into slower stretches for carving. It’s a picturesque spot, with waves breaking in front of a reef shelf framed by coconut trees.

  • Bojos

Perfect for left-hand lovers, Bojos runs down the point over shallow ledges, linking sections for long rides. It picks up plenty of swell and provides fast, sometimes barreling sections when the conditions align.

  • Bombers

A high-performance right-hand wave with two incredible barrel sections. Fast and heavy, it’s a thrilling ride for those who can handle its shallow reef.

  • And Many More...

The Telo Islands are teeming with waves, too numerous to name, each offering unique challenges and experiences for surfers.
